Build rustic birdhouses for cardinals

Cardinal birdhouse plans are not hard to follow.

It is important to understand that all birds don’t live in the same kind of birdhouse. Building one that is suitable for the kinds of birds in your area is the most important consideration when deciding what kind of birdhouse you want to build

Cardinals are beautiful birds and wonderful to watch, so if they are in your part of the country, you will love watching them come and go from the birdhouse you put out for them. They are partial to thickets and shrubs in the area around their birdhouse. They like rose bushes and are great at controlling pests around your plants and gardens.

Cardinals do not migrate and because of this, they become very aggressive in protecting their home space. They will chase other birds from the area that they call their own. As seasons change toward winter, they become even more possessive and aggressive in protecting their perceived territories. They will also defend their space from other cardinals.

Cardinals enjoy the water of a birdbath, so putting one near their nest will keep them happy in your backyard. If you do this, be kind enough to ensure that you keep the water fresh for them. This, along with shrubs and thickets will encourage them to visit you from time to time, allowing you to enjoy them up close and personal.

Finding easy cardinal birdhouse plans is easy, building one can be easy too. Making sure your cardinals feel comfortable with you is an ongoing process.

You can build a cardinal birdhouse, sometimes you can get them to move in… making it open will help since they like nests in branches. So I would not build one on a pole, I would definitely attach it to a tree,

Great point. By placing it in a tree, it is more likely to attract cardinals.

Cardinals are some of the most beautiful birds. Here in Indiana, we see a lot of them. Love the thought of having them around all the time.

Cardinals really like natural outside nests best, but you can sometimes get them to take over one of your built birdhouses.

Cardinals don’t generally like birdhouses, they prefer nests in trees, but this was an interesting article, nonetheless.

This is true. But sometimes they will surprise you and move into one – even though they don’t prefer them.
